Birthday party with friends: 5 activity ideas to organize

5 activity ideas to organize for your child's birthday party with their friends.

Children talk about it for weeks, sometimes months, in advance: the famous birthday party with friends. They have lots of ideas for activities, some more realistic than others. Here are a few suggestions to help parents get a clearer picture and, above all, have choices without the stress!

1: Parents, these golden entertainers!

The first option is to organize everything yourself at home. For children starting school, with a smaller, more restricted group, it's a simple, easy, and inexpensive option, provided you're willing to get your hands dirty. If the weather is good, you can organize a course and a few outdoor challenges (relay race, knock-down game, treasure hunt, etc.). In winter, or if the weather is less clement, you can opt for a craft activity, an art workshop, painting and decorating a cardboard box, baking shortbread, a cooking workshop, or anything else easy and accessible for the children's age.

To find ideas, Google is my best friend. It's important to remember that children are delighted as long as there's a little magic, balloons, some decoration – in short, a festive atmosphere in their daily lives, without breaking the bank.

2: Outside the home!

Some parents refuse to have a noisy gang of children, with their dirty shoes and chocolate-stained fingers, descending on their home, and that's perfectly legitimate 🙂

There are plenty of very nice places to book a birthday activity, depending on the age of the children, their preferred subjects, and especially the size of the group.

Here are a few ideas:

In short, a nice change from bowling 🙂

3: At home but without me 🙂

It's also possible to invite all the friends home, even if you don't feel like a summer camp leader. Many organizations come to your home to host birthdays for all ages: clown or magician shows, Kapla activities, cooking workshops, creative activities, makeup and makeover sessions, at-home escape games, pajama parties – ideas and providers are plentiful.

Here's our favorite address for this type of 100% successful birthday: Saki Party

4: Renting equipment

To enhance at-home birthdays, it's also possible to rent equipment. An option that is out of the ordinary without breaking the bank. Large wooden games, bouncy castles, cotton candy machines, children's tables and chairs, foam cannons, game kits, etc.

To reduce transportation costs, it's best to book close to home. Often, neighborhood groups, parents met at school and through sports clubs are a mine of information. Toy libraries and communal youth services can also help you in your search.

And if not, always check out Saki Party, the go-to reference 🙂

5: The last good tip: organize a birthday with several families

It's not uncommon for two or more children to celebrate their birthday together. This allows for a wider invitation (usually the whole class, for example) and then to split the costs. A great alternative to not having to limit the number of guests.

Tip: Consider suggesting a joint gift to avoid temporary gadgets 🙂
