Family hiking around the Vanoise glaciers: a 7-day adventure with our children

We love baking cookies with personalized messages, and we'll explain why in this article.
What initially seemed like a simple activity has already sparked a lot of questions and interest on social media. So we decided to shed some light on this unique and delicious activity.

Personalized cookies are simply shortbread cookies (a super easy recipe for busy parents), onto which you write a message before baking them. It's a simple activity accessible to everyone, requiring no prior experience or significant investment. And the result is so original, children will ask for more.

To begin, simply prepare a smooth dough with the following ingredients:
The great thing about this super easy recipe is that it doesn't have any complicated steps, not even separating the egg white from the yolk. You can put everything in a large bowl (or food processor) and let the kids do the rest, with a quick reminder about weight along the way 🙂
Psst: here, we divide the amount of sugar by two 🙂

Since it's a simple activity to do with children, and it gives a great result, we enjoy doing it regularly for different occasions:
An easy basic: Making your own cookies for school snacks is also about taking the time to do things yourself, offering a fun learning experience. At a time when many schools are rightly prioritizing zero waste, what could be more logical than taking the time, on the weekend or Wednesday afternoon, to make your own personalized cookies as a family? Add your name, a word of encouragement like "good luck," a "kiss," a "hi"—in short, have fun making your snacks your own and creating a fun atmosphere.
We're often asked to provide a snack for everyone: in class, for a birthday party, or for youth groups. It's a perfect opportunity to involve the children in this activity. What could be more engaging than making the snack yourself? And as a bonus, it's mess-free, doesn't require cutlery, and is easy to eat. For one group snack, we made cookies with the group's name on them, adding a fun touch.
The perfect personalized touch: decorate the buffet with small cookies personalized with the name (or date) of the person being honored. These cookies can also be given as small party favors; in short, a lovely way to add a personal touch to a celebration.
In this age of WhatsApp and email, sending or offering small cookies to RSVP to a birthday party is a truly original way to thank our friends. It's fun, it's original, and above all, it's delicious to enjoy while waiting for the big day.
When it comes to planning a gift for a birthday, an end-of-year celebration, a gift to thank teachers, friends, etc., it is increasingly common to prepare 'homemade' gifts: small jars of jam, small sachets of lavender. So if we are not yet entirely comfortable giving 'only' homemade gifts, nothing prevents us from complementing a gift with pretty personalized biscuits.

Here are a few ideas to give your cookies an even more professional touch: dip them in melted chocolate so that one side has a chocolate coating, and use this chocolate (white or dark) as "glue" to attach small colored sugar decorations. The same can be done with caramel, for example, for an even more decadent result. Remember, this is done after baking for an extra festive touch.
Have fun!
